Feedback highlights:
“The new route takes too long.”
“The shuttle keeps changing every hour.”
“Don’t change the old routing/times.”
The current AVIT shuttle route was implemented to address prior concerns about limited pickup options near Wilkerson Hall, an area that had been underserved by direct shuttle access to Ryan Hall and the airport. While the change has improved accessibility for some students, it has also introduced new challenges—particularly for those traveling on tighter schedules. The council is working with Transportation Services and Flight Operations to evaluate routing alternatives, including the possibility of a dedicated Wilkerson shuttle, in order to maintain broader access while restoring efficiency and predictability for AVIT riders.
Feedback highlights:
“Couch in CFI lounge.”
“Minor improvements… could include a couch or maybe a Bluetooth speaker.”
“Respectfully please place any couch in the CFI lounge.”
The council is aware of ongoing interest in enhancing the CFI lounge environment. We are exploring reasonable and space-conscious options to make the lounge more functional for day-to-day use.
The university recognizes YOU as a vital source of information about the effectiveness of courses and instruction. To support meaningful recognition of your feedback and continuous improvement, students are reminded of two formal systems for channeling course-related concerns:
All students are encouraged to use the SELFI system. This formal feedback mechanism allows students to share constructive observations and suggestions directly with instructors and departments. The results from SELFI are instrumental in helping faculty enhance their courses and teaching methods. Furthermore, these evaluations are an integral component of faculty performance reviews, influencing decisions related to tenure and promotion, thereby reinforcing the commitment to high academic standards.
Additionally, students should be aware of the university’s academic grievance policy, which provides a formal avenue for addressing specific academic concerns when necessary. This policy outlines clear steps for students to follow if they believe an academic issue warrants formal review, ensuring fairness and transparency throughout the process.
